In 1956, Alpha Phi founded the Alpha Phi Foundation. The Alpha Phi Foundation is dedicated to improving women’s heart health, and fostering excellence in women’s education and leadership. Each year the foundation gifts the Heart to Heart Cardiac Care grant to an organization focused on women’s cardiac research. Additionally, the Alpha Phi Foundation supports leadership through our national Emerging Leaders Institute (ELI), a place where collegiate members are taught leadership development skills.

Our history of philanthropy and service can be seen through our current endeavors where we strive to raise funds for causes near to our hearts and provide service within our community. When you join Alpha Phi, you become part of an organization that strives to enrich the lives of others, and have fun doing it!

Our chapter makes a point to bring philanthropy to our campus community. We host multiple philanthropic events each year, meant to encourage campus-wide involvement in our effort to raise funds for the Alpha Phi Foundation. In addition to hosting our own philanthropy events, we actively attend and contribute to philanthropy events hosted by other Greek organizations and nonprofit groups at Bentley. One of Alpha Phi’s philanthropic missions is for each chapter to develop meaningful relationships within their community by taking part in service projects and granting donations to local organizations. Our chapter takes pride in our community involvement and enjoys making a difference locally.
Red Dress Gala
Red Dress Gala is a philanthropy event that is hosted annually by over 100 Alpha Phi chapters internationally. We invite parents and alumnae to celebrate our sisterhood and philanthropic efforts in a Gala that is unique to each chapter. At Bentley, our gala is a chance for parents and alumnae to take part in a grand night of philanthropy with great activities and even better company. Our chapter members and guests are encouraged to wear red as a reminder of our commitment to women's heart health and ongoing cardiac care research. This past March, in 2023, our chapter had the most successful Red Dress Gala since 2008. We raised just over $23,000 for the Alpha Phi Foundation in support of Women's Heart Health. Thank you to all family and friends that came and supported such an amazing cause!
APHIELD DAY
APHIeld day is one of our fall philanthropy events. Alpha Phi hosts an activity-filled field day on Bentley's campus to fundraise for The Alpha Phi Foundation! Organizations all across Bentley's campus can create a team of 6 to compete in different field day competitions like the three-legged race, tug-o-war, sack-races, and more. This is one of our favorite fall events that fundraises for an amazing cause, while also bringing the Bentley community together in the fall weather.
Mac n' Phis
MAC N' PHIS is our other fall philanthropy event! It is a macaroni and cheese fundraiser benefiting the Alpha Phi Foundation. The event is open to all Bentley students and is hosted on campus in Harry's Pub. Our family lines created over 20 different types of macaroni and cheese that were then sold to the Bentley community raising over $2,000 for the Alpha Phi Foundation.
Hoops for hearts
Hoops for hearts is one of our newest philanthropy events held on Bentley's campus. This is a basketball tournament held in the Dana Center and is open to the entire Bentley community. Teams of 5 compete in the basketball tournament for a chance to win fun prizes! Bentley organizations are encouraged to register for a team to support the Alpha Phi Foundation philanthropy and enjoy an exciting basketball competition.
Boston
Heart walk
The Boston Heart Walk is an amazing way for our chapter to fundraise for heart health research and connect with the greater community in Boston. Walking in the Heart Walk boosts heart health AND mental health while helping millions of others at the same time. We love being able to represent Alpha Phi in the Boston Heart Walk fundraiser!
